Yes! You will need the free TuneIn Radio app. Just search “WXCU” inside the app to listen. Then save us to your favorites for easier access! We also have a mobilized website, so you can easily access this page from your smartphone.
There is also a TuneIN Radio app for Android devices. It is available on the Google Play store.
We do not have a terrestrial signal. If your car radio has an Aux Input, you can stream WXCU from the TuneIN app through that.

In Spring 2014 we had more than 20 on-air DJs, in addition to our small but dedicated Management Team.
No. But our DJs can earn credit toward graduation.
DJs are in the studio every day from 9 a.m. to midnight Eastern Time with the exception of breaks and finals or when the university is closed (due to inclement weather or otherwise). Though you might be able to hear some truly dedicated DJs still on the air.

Our format is predominantly made up of alternative, rock, and local music. We also have great talk shows! Check out our latest and top songs.
Our DJs have the freedom to choose what music they play on-air. We have a large, frequently updated database of songs they can pick from, compiled by our music director and staff. DJs are allowed to bring in some of their own music as well.

Yes, as long as there is a DJ in the studio. You can make requests by calling the request line at (614) 236-6336. As long as the song fits the show format and is in our library, we can play it for you.
If you’re quick about it, you can ask the DJ in the studio what it was by calling the request line at (614) 236-6336. You could always try typing some lyrics you remember into Google. Or there is the black magic that is Soundhound / Shazam.

Radio at Capital University can be traced back to the 1940s. WXCU started streaming on the internet in 2007.
We are in the basement of Huber-Spielman Hall, centrally located in Capital University’s campus.
Of course! We have listeners all over the world. While most of our listeners come from Ohio, we have many listeners all over America and even in China.
